The Chicklette Charms the Birds
We spent yesterday at Lamington National Park. Stopping to view the bird feeding, the Chicklette was accosted by this curious rosella.

It was not long before Blossy’s afternoon tea was forfeit.

With the arrival of a second parrot the battle for the biscuit was waged over her head.

With the interloper vanquished, the victor settles in to enjoy a bite to eat.

Mr Percival

I’m not sure why this pelican chooses to frequent the dam. We are not so far from the coast, and. .. he looks a little out of place in a rural, bush setting.
Ibis

Ibis are not my favourite birds. In the city, they are inclined to be bold and rummage through your bags if you leave them unattended for a moment. I found their country cousins to be a deal more retiring, and set this one to flight by my approach to the dam.
A Gaggle of Geese

These geese live on the dairy farm we visit. They are not particularly friendly, but they are stately and dignified.
Female Satin Bowerbird

The female of the bird species can sometimes be a little bland in comparison to her male counterpart. In the case of the Satin Bowerbird, I think the ladies hold their own.
Juvenile Noisy Miner

Well deserving it’s name, this noisy miner fluff ball set up a racket that demanded attention. I followed the hullabaloo, and there it was – such a tiny little thing to make so much fuss.
Australian King Parrot

Breakfast!
Blue Faced Honey Eater

A rather curious aspect…
Crimson Rosella

There was a trail of white, tufty seeds left behind this rosella: the evidence of a breakfast well enjoyed!
