Fun with iPhoto

What possible gift would be appropriate for two stoic, silent, country farmers?
iPhoto offers several book options, and was just what I needed to thank my farming friends for allowing a trail of little girls to follow them around their Old MacDonald wonderland, and for tolerating my ever present camera.

There are options for text on each page, and on the dust jacket.

The gift was well received, and I’m thinking I won’t be long resisting the urge to order some of our family photos to be presented this way.
Sleeping Beauties

I love my little poults, even though they are growing, by the day, more like …big ol’ turkeys!

I’ll be a wee bit sad when they have to go back to the farm, and prepare to be a roast dinner.
We have them on loan only for the cute part of their lives!
Mulberry Picking

It’s a serious business. The little girls, with Grandma, were finding mulberries to feed to Blossy – the wee one with the purple boots. As it is the very start of the mulberry season, the pickings were slim.
The Cow Shed

Each night the cows come here before ambling up to the milking shed. They are fed all sorts of things that I didn’t know cows ate, and as the farmers have a lot of cows and it is a small dairy, they come here in shifts.
For those who read my Beyond Bluestockings blog, this is the infamous scene of the not-so-successful exit in my once sparkly, pink thongs. A cow shed after a week of rain is not a pretty place: certainly it is not a place for delicate footwear. You live and learn.
Turkey Babies

I’m smitten!
The Farmer’s Magic

What makes an honest farming man such a hit with the girls?

Why, he holds a fresh, velvety gosling, of course! Irresistable!
End of the Rainbow

Reflection

Two Pots of Gold?

It was a wild weather day, with the landscape changing moment by moment.
Pig

It’s not true. Contrary to every book you ever read as a child; pigs do not say oink!
They make low, gutteral sounds; chew on stones, and look at you with their beady, cold, sinister little eyes.
