A few of my favourite things..

Australian Green Tree Frog

He was a very large fellow: the opening he is perched in,  is 12cm wide.  He was also most obliging, enduring the flash quite close for me to get the below shot of his face (not cropped).

He looks charming, as if he might enjoy a cup of tea with you and discuss the eternal foolishness of politicians.

  2. 😀 Burstmode, you are quite right, quite right. If he had wit and will to enter into such a chat over scones and tea, I would welcome him with open arms.

  4. In truth, Vimal, I think his eyes are marvellous, and I ran back inside to get a set of tubes to add to my camera to get a close up of them.

    But..

He was such a dirty froggy! I feared to get closer lest he jump on my camera with his gritty self. I confess I was also concerned that he may jump on me with his gritty self, and cause me to drop my camera.

I am not scared of frogs, and was genuinely please to have a visit from this fellow, but there is visiting, and there is visiting.

Though I would have dearly liked to get closer to his froggy daylights!

  5. Look at how his little hands are together, as if he is giving you a serious talk! Cute 🙂

We have a lot of green frogs up here. I wonder if they are the same thing as “Green tree frogs”. Not sure about the frog species.

Nice close up. I don’t blame your nervousness though. Sadly a lot of these little fellows live amongst the banana tree on the farms. I know several young men who work at such places, and often then are not seen until to late. Picture cane knives and deleafing, and cutting the bunches. I can’t bare to say anymore 😦

  6. Oh that would be dreadful to carve up such a creature! The make a terrible sound when they are being hurt (I could always tell when one of the neighbourhood cat gang were out and about and a frog was the victim.)
