Wow! It looks like a postcard! It (Surfers Paradise) certainly looks beautiful at night time…

Thanks, Michaela 🙂
Amanda, considering I normally avoid Surfers, what are the odds? (rolling my eyes!) We happened to be there during Tramps and Transvestites,..ahem.. Gold Coast Fashion week. There were several events held in the building we were staying at, and we couldn’t move without bumping into hairdressers, models, and people carrying cameras, and more hairdressers and makeup people. I had to laugh, even though it made me want to run for the hills. 😉

Vimal, I wish! I have never been in a helicopter. 🙂
This was taken from the window of the building we stayed in.
Do you remember that I said that your beaches look different to ours? I couldn’t actually answer why at the time. When we there last week I realised that it is because this is the background for our beaches!
I have some shots I took from the top of the Q1 building to post: it’s 80 levels high (whoozy! 😯 ) and you can see from Brisbane to Byron Bay. All the way is seriously urban. City is the background of all the beaches I know. There are beautiful beaches that have forest backgrounds, but they are nowhere near where I live.

Is that the building you stayed in Mrs BB? I am not sure I would sleep soundly in such a tall building, lol… double 😯 LOL
Mrs BB you should see some the photos we have been taking of the beaches where I live. I am sure you would have a ball with your camera here. They are so gorgeous – you know why? because they are unspoiled. I will post some on my blog (which has been very inactive lately). But, I am loving this milder weather and sunny days – and the bluest sky you could ever see…

Amanda, it wasn’t just that the elevater wobbled in the upper floors (I kid you not!) that made it difficult to sleep: can you imagine the noise in Surfers on a Friday and Saturday night? We were two minutes walk from Cavill Avenue.
I’d love to see some of your beach photos. One of the reasons I begged Mr BB to get me a 4WD is that I wanted to take the girls camping on Fraser, and ultimately, I would love to go up the cape and across to Kakadu. Not that my little city 4WD will manage much in the way of off roading, but they assure me it will cope with a little sand…
You know it’s not just your beaches that call me: you have varieties of kingfishers we don’t have here, and butterflies. So many good reasons to head north!
You’re on my reader, so they will come up when you post – there’s plenty of time for blogging when the weather is not so glorious!
love to you, xx
