It’s a hard life for a lizard.
This poor chap wandered into the houseyard at my parents’. We arrived to discover him being harassed by the dogs.

Arrrggghhhh – I’d harass him if I were a dog too! If I found him in my yard, I would run v-e-r-y FAST! That’s a seriously ugly critter.
I think I’ll stick with giant bunnies getting out of their cage and running wild in my backyard (like I had this evening) thanks very much!
p.s. Happy New Year to you and yours. 🙂

Is that a bearded dragon? Hard to tell…its no goanna but I am unfamiliar with all of the lizard species down under.

Ha! Fee, you’re heartless 😛
I never choose my friends by their looks 😀
Mind, giant bunnies does sound cuter, I will grant you that.
Thank you, we had a deliciously happy new year’s eve – spotlighting in the rain! Brrr! I hope your time away went well? xx
Burstmode, yes, it’s a bearded dragon. He would possibly have been easier to identify if I had posted one of the straight on pics. He does look a little odd from the side view.

I saw the movie Avatar yesterday in 3D. Loved it. There’s a lizard or dragon that has a beard that looks like this (http://julianaheng.com/wp-content/images/avatar_leonopteryx.jpg), called a Toruk, that saves the day. 😀

Wow, he’s gorgeous… in a photo (not up close and in real life though)

Vimal, while my lizard had pluck a plenty, there was not quite the strength of body to match his valiant heart. Perhaps he would have been encouraged to watch his super lizard counterpart win the day 😉
Aw, Susan, he’s as mild as a lamb when left to his own devices. Thanks for visiting 😀

Ack, I thought the side profile was bad enough. That front shot would have me running for my life – seriously! Certainly wouldn’t win any “prettiest wildlife awards” would he?

lol! I thought you might want to see his smile.. you know, his warm, sensitive side 😛

Did he allow you to get upclose and personal? Or did you have a zoom lens or something lol?
He is beautiful in his own interesting way! 😉

Hello Amanda dear 🙂
I hope your Christmas/New Year all went well?
I was quite close to him, and he obviously thought we were less threatening than the dogs, as he was pleased enough to be shooed out of the gate with a shovel. (gently of course 😀 )

He is cool and a bit spiky 😉

Poor chap, he’s not exactly cuddly 😛
