A few of my favourite things..

This was an adventure, both in that I had never been to a rodeo before, and in that I had no idea how to shoot one.  I scoured the internet for days before hand, in an attempt to find out how to balance the low light + fast action combination.  When you throw in manual focus, and the fact that I normally shoot while letting my camera choose the settings,  it was a challenge indeed. (Those bull riders thought they had a tough job!)

  3. I love rodeos. You have a good eye for photos so the technical simply becomes a minor detail.

  4. Vimal, thank you. I have the copyright on all of them, but I was aiming for not-too-noticeable, but still an effective deterrent to ripping off. Not sure if it will make a difference, but I guess time will tell.

Burstmode, I had never understood the attraction of rodeos, before attending one 🙂 It was a great atmosphere, and apart from being showered in dirt, it was enormously more fun than I expected.

Thanks for your kind words, though I still find the technical aspect a bit of a handicap. One day I may get it..

  5. I hope they don’t hurt the animals at those things 😦

    • Amanda, I’m not sure the animals had fun, exactly, but they didn’t seem to get hurt, which is more than I can say for most of the competitors! 😛
